Every year, many youth and young adults are kicked out of their family and homes, are unable to pay rent, or for some other reason find themselves without a permanent place to stay.  In order to survive, young people often seek out temporary housing solutions, including sleeping in vehicles, in abandoned buildings, or on the couches of friends and relatives.

iCount 2017 is the annual youth point-in-time count in Miami-Dade County to determine the number of young people ages 13-24 who are experiencing housing instability in our community.  iCount 2017 is a CONFIDENTIAL survey for youth who do not have a permanent place to stay and who may benefit from services, including housing, employment, educational, and health care assistance.  The results of the iCount 2017 survey will assist the Miami-Dade Homeless Trust and local service providers in determining how best to allocate resources to help young people in this situation. The iCount 2017 survey will be available online from January 22nd-31st at www.iCountmiami.com.  Youth may also complete the survey by calling 2-1-1 or texting “iCount” to 898211.

Please encourage youth who may be in distress to take this confidential survey between January 22-31, 2017.  For more information, please visit www.iCountmiami.com or contact Pauline Green at pgreen@miamihomesforall.org or 786-469-2060.
